Snowshoeing

Let’s go snowshoeing! You don’t need any prior experience to join us on this wonderful winter trip. We are going to the Catskill Mountains to play in the winter wonderland and try snowshoeing. We’ll provide the snowshoes and teach you the basics. Don’t worry, if you can hike, you can snowshoe. Beginners welcome! It’s day of fun in the snow you are not going to want to miss!
Note, the exact location of the hike may vary, depending on the best snow conditions. If weather does not cooperate and there is no snow in our region, it will be a regular winter hike!

Wear
- Waterproof hiking boots (required)
- Weather-appropriate, moisture-wicking, athletic clothing (no cotton)
- Wool or synthetic socks (no cotton)
- Waterproof gloves
- Warm hat
- Buff
- Sun hat
- Sunglasses
- Leg gaiters
Pack
- We will provide any traction devices you need, but if you have your own microspikes/snowshoes/crampons, feel free to bring them
- Insulating puffy and insulating pants
- Fleece / mid layer
- Windproof/waterproof top and bottom layers that can fit over all other layers
- Lunch
- Ample Snacks
- At least two (2) liters of water (*note* if temperature is below freezing do not bring hydration bladders – will freeze)
- Backpack
- Sunscreen
- Hand / foot warmers (optional)
- Extra layers to adjust for changing weather conditions
- Extra pair of wool socks
- Trekking poles (optional)
- A change of clothes for the ride back (optional)
